01 The site
Web design for south west businesses starts with the strategy. Not the template.
A lot of sites were set up fast and never revisited. The template decided the structure, the pages went wherever they fit, and the enquiry form is whatever came out of the box. I build the other way round. The Understand phase tells me who you're trying to reach, whether they're locals or visitors or both, and what they need to see before they get in touch, and the site is built to match that.
How it's structured
Site map and navigation built around how people decide
Service or product architecture, depending on what you sell
Page templates your team can follow
Booking, enquiry and checkout flows
How it's found
Keyword-led service and location pages
Titles, metadata and structured data
Google Business Profile aligned with the site
Search Console and sitemap set up at launch
How it converts
Trust signals: reviews, results, real photos
Enquiry and booking paths that don't hide
Email capture where it earns its place
Tracking that's ready for Google Ads and Meta
02 The Proof
Different businesses, different problems. The same standard, all of it built here.
A physio and a gift store, both a short drive from my desk, both founder-led, both still working with me years after launch. The case studies are written the way the work actually happened, and the numbers appear once the data has matured, not before.
Down South Physio
HEALTHCARE · STRATEGY+ REBUILD + ONGOING
A clinic that had outgrown its own website. A guided pathway that lands every patient with the right physio.
the LemonTree
E-COMMERCE · STRATEGY + REBUILD + ONGOING
A much-loved gift store nobody could find online. A Shopify rebuild around the way people actually shop: for gifts.
03 Built here
Looking for a web designer in the south west? You need one who knows the ground and still answers the phone two years later.
I'm in Dunsborough, which puts most of the South West within an hour of my desk. Most of what I've built is here, for businesses whose customers are locals and visitors at once and whose year moves with the seasons. Here's how each phase runs when the client is down the road.
01 Understand
The strategy workshop happens across a table, at your place or mine. Your analytics, Search Console and booking or sales data come through as access, not screenshots, and the research starts from knowing the ground.
02 Build
The site is built in a browser either way. You get a live staging link from the first week, review calls at each decision point, and revisions on the actual site rather than on a mockup. Training is recorded, so your team can watch it twice.
03 Grow
After launch the relationship settles into a rhythm: a monthly call where the data sets the agenda, and the person who built the site is the one making the changes. Most of the businesses I work with are within an hour of my desk, and most of them are still working with me.
A two-minute gut check
Where does a new customer usually hear about you first?
One more thing
Want a proper read on your answers?
Pop your email in and I'll send a short, honest read on what your answers suggest. One email, no sequence.
That didn't send. Check the email address and try again.
Here's the thing
Those four questions?
That's almost word for word how a real Understand session starts. Before a single page gets designed.
Start a real one →This works brilliantly for some businesses.
And not for others.
It tends to fit when…
The business is founder-led, established, and the website is being asked to do more than it was built for.
The current site was set up fast, on a template or by whoever was available, and the business has outgrown it.
You want to talk to the person doing the work, not the person selling it.
You'd rather be found by the right customers than by the most.
You'll give me your data, your time in the Understand phase, and a straight answer when I ask for one.
It tends not to when…
The business is brand new and the offer is still being tested. Not because the work doesn't matter, but because strategy needs something to work from.
You need a full agency: paid social, PR, video, a team on call. I'm one person and I'll say so.
It needs to be live by Friday.
Price is the main thing you're choosing on.
The brief is already locked and the job is just to build it.
Fair questions, straight answers.
The things South West businesses usually want to know before booking a call.

No, but it helps, and in the South West it's easy. I'm based in Dunsborough, and most of the region is within an hour. Strategy sessions are better across a table, reviews run on a live staging link, and I'm on the road often enough that meeting at your place is normal.
-
It depends on what the business needs, and I'd rather give you a real number than a hopeful one. The number of pages, whether there's a store or a booking system behind it, and how much of the strategy and content exists already are what move the cost. The Understand phase is where those get answered, so you get a fixed figure at the end of it and it doesn't move after that. If budget is the first question, ask it on the call and I'll give you a straight answer.
-
Most projects run six to ten weeks from strategy to launch, depending on scope and how quickly content comes together. If you're timing a launch around the season, say so early. The schedule gets built around your calendar, not mine.
-
Every site is handed over with recorded training so your team can manage pages and content without me, and 30 days of post-launch support is included. After that, most clients keep working with me on the Grow phase: the channels that send people to the site, the data that says what to change, and the changes themselves. That part is optional and it's a relationship, not a subscription.
-
A lot, at the right moments. The Understand phase asks for real engagement early, because the strategy is built from what you know about your business and your customers. Then I do the work, and you review it properly at each decision point rather than by committee.
-
Yes. Bunbury is under an hour from Dunsborough and the businesses there are a good fit for how I work: established, founder-led, and often the biggest in their category locally with a website that doesn't say so. Everything on this page applies, and I'm in Bunbury often enough that in person is easy.
Let's talk
The thinking, the website, and everything after it. All in one place.
A relaxed conversation about your business, where the enquiries are coming from, and whether I'm the right fit. No pitch deck.
