Umi Creative, led by photographer and filmmaker Matt Moyes, focuses on capturing architecture, events, portraits, brands, and videography with a emphasis on honest storytelling and collaboration.
They needed a professional website to present their work, philosophy, and services while highlighting their deep ties to the Margaret River region.
The core opportunity was to create a digital presence that attracts local and visiting clients, solving the challenge of consolidating scattered content into a cohesive platform that builds trust and encourages contact.
Our Approach
We prioritised a structure that aligns with Umi Creative's storytelling ethos, organising the site around key sections like services, portfolio, and about pages to guide visitors logically from inspiration to action.
Design decisions focused on clean layouts with ample space for high-quality images and videos, ensuring mobile responsiveness and fast loading for a seamless user experience.
We selected Squarespace as the platform for its robust media management and ease of updates, incorporating SEO best practices through targeted meta descriptions for service pages to improve visibility in regional searches.
How We Delivered It
We began with detailed client consultations to gather content on Matt's background, philosophy, and services, then planned the site map and wireframes to ensure intuitive navigation.
The design phase involved creating custom elements like service intros, CTAs, an announcement bar with dropdown, privacy policy, and post-submission messaging, all tailored to a professional tone.
During the build, we integrated these into Squarespace, tested for functionality, and incorporated revisions based on feedback.
The site launched smoothly, with ongoing support provided for any initial adjustments to maintain performance.
