Maku The Label is a fashion label seeking a refined, professional online presence that could support ongoing growth rather than a short-term launch. The existing setup lacked clarity in structure and did not adequately support product variants, sizing, returns, or the operational realities of running a fashion e-commerce business.
The opportunity was to create a website that felt confident and considered on the surface, while being robust, flexible, and easy to manage behind the scenes.
Our Approach
Design decisions were guided by the brand’s fashion positioning, drawing inspiration from elevated, editorial-style layouts while maintaining simplicity and restraint.
We focused heavily on structure. Products, collections, and navigation were carefully planned to ensure customers could browse intuitively and understand the range without friction. The user experience prioritised clarity, trust, and ease of purchase across both desktop and mobile.
SEO considerations were embedded into the build, including clean URLs, logical page hierarchy, and content structures that support discoverability without compromising the visual experience.
How We Delivered It
The project began with planning and structural mapping, covering collections, product logic, navigation, and future requirements. Design was then developed to align with the brand’s aesthetic while remaining practical for everyday use.
The Shopify build included configuration of products, variants, sizing, and key e-commerce settings, followed by refinement through review and revisions. Attention was given to ensuring the site was easy for the client to manage independently post-launch.
Post-launch support focused on stability, confidence, and handover, ensuring the client understood how to maintain and grow the site as the business evolves.
